SALEM – A Final Review Committee is meeting this week to recommend funding for two intermodal facilities proposed in the Connect Oregon program. Three proposals under consideration are the result of direction from the legislature in Keep Oregon Moving, the 2017 transportation funding package. The meeting is at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11 at ODOT’s Technical Leadership Center in the Columbia Room, 4040 Fairview Industrial Dr. SE, Salem. The public is invited to attend but testimony will not be accepted at this meeting. The public will be invited to comment at the Oregon Transportation Commission meeting Feb. 21, when it reviews the rankings provided by the Final Review Committee. The commission is expected to make a final decision at its March 21 meeting.

Connect Oregon projects are aimed at improving connections between the different modes of transportation, such as rail, marine and highway. ODOT received six pre-proposals for the legislatively-dedicated projects related to the Mid-Willamette Valley Intermodal Facility and Treasure Valley Intermodal Facility. Three of the prospective projects did not move forward. In accordance with OAR 731-035-0065, the remaining project plans were reviewed by a neutral third party with economic analysis expertise before going to the Final Review Committee.

Materials related to the meeting will be available online Jan. 8. The meeting room is accessible and accessible parking is available at the ODOT building; materials can be made available in alternate format by calling 503-986-3703 or statewide relay, 7-1-1.
