Oregon bridge weight restriction update

Specialized Hauling Vehicles (SHVs) are single-unit short-wheel-based trucks with multiple drop axles, such as modern concrete and dump trucks.

They are commonly used in the construction, waste management, and commodities hauling industries. SHVs use closely spaced axles that raise or lower as needed for weight, and can result in heavier loads concentrated over a shorter length.

The Oregon Department of Transportation may soon be placing signs on several bridges, limiting the weights allowed for SHVs. The map shows the location of the bridges.

More information

Additional information about signing bridges for SHV restrictions can be found in the February 2018 edition of the Motor Carrier News (www.oregon.gov/
ODOT/MCT/Documents/MCNewsFebruary2018.pdf).
