August 18-25, 2018*

Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – at I-84 interchange

Project Description: This project will repair and resurface the bridges that connect I-84 and I-5. Expect a two-week closure of each bridge in July and August.

Traffic Impacts: The ramp connecting I-84 West to I-5 South is closed 24/7 from 10 p.m. Aug. 17 until Aug. 27.

During the I-84 westbound to I-5 southbound ramp closure: Only one lane of I-84 west will be open between Lloyd Center and I-5. The ramp to Morrison Bridge/City Center is closed. On-ramps to I-84 westbound between 82nd Avenue and I-5 will be closed.

Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – Interstate Bridge to Moda Center paving

Project Description: This project will repave approximately six miles of Interstate 5 and exit and entrance ramps between the Interstate Bridge and the Moda Center. The project will also replace and upgrade existing signs on the mainline and on exit ramps, upgrade ADA ramps and replace the median barrier on the Hayden Island Bridge and near the North Broadway exit.

Traffic Impacts: Nighttime lane closures in both directions of I-5 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Periodic daytime shoulder work.

Pedestrian and cyclist detours at Lombard Street, Marine Drive and Alberta Street.

Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – Paving and Auxiliary Lane

Project Description: This project will add a southbound auxiliary lane on I-5 from Lower Boones Ferry Road to I-205, add a second lane to the Lower Boones Ferry Road off-ramp from I-5 north, and pave I-5 from OR 99W to I-205.

Traffic Impacts:Nighttime lane closures and ramp closures. Northbound Exit 290 off ramp and the on-ramp to I-5 north from Nyberg Street (Exit 289) closed for weekend.

The ramp to southbound I-5 from Lower Boones Ferry Road (exit 290) and the on-ramp to I-5 north from westbound Nyberg Street (exit 290) will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20. The following ramps will be closed at night next week: Exit 290 toward Lower Boones Ferry Road on- and off-ramps, northbound Exit 289 toward Nyberg Street on-ramps, northbound Exit 292B toward Kruse Way on-ramp, and northbound Exit 291 toward Carman Drive off-ramp.

Interstate 5 – Pacific Highway – Interstate Sign Replacement 

Project Description: This project will install, replace, repair and upgrade existing interstate signs and sign structures to meet current federal standards. The project area along I-5 will occur south of the Iowa Street viaduct and north of the OR 217 interchange.

Traffic Impacts: Single lane closures of I-5 south from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Interstate 84 – Banfield Expressway – Regional Connections 

Project Description: This project is the next phase of ODOT RealTime, a system that provides real-time traffic information on roads to help travelers get where they're going more safely and efficiently. New electronic signs will be installed on I-84 between I-5 and I-205. During sign installations, there will be several full nighttime freeway closures. 

Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts.

Interstate 84 – Banfield Expressway – Interstate Sign Replacement

Project Description: This project will install, replace, repair and upgrade existing interstate signs and sign structures to meet current federal standards. The project area along I-84 will occur between the NE 102nd Avenue overcrossing and slightly east of the NE 148th Avenue overcrossing.

Traffic Impacts: Westbound I-84 between NE 122nd and 181st Avenues is closed at night Aug. 22-29. Follow signed detour on Airport Way.

Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway –  Farley Slide

Project Description: The project will repair a landslide area to prevent future movement near milepost 48, just east of Cascade Locks. The work will include building a retaining wall north side of I-84 below the highway.

Traffic Impacts: Daytime single lane closures in both directions Monday through Thursday. Nighttime lane closures for westbound from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Aug. 18-19.

Interstate 84 – Columbia River Highway – Wyeth to Lindsey Creek

Project Description: This project is constructing the next phase of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. This segment will connect Wyeth Campgrounds to the State Trail at Lindsey Creek. Construction will occur through summer 2019.

Traffic Impacts: Daytime single lane closures for eastbound I-84 from milepost 51-53 Monday through Wednesday from at 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and until 2 p.m. Thursday. 

Periodic shoulder closures.

Interstate 205 – East Portland Freeway – Glenn Jackson Bridge to Johnson Creek Boulevard

Project Description: This project will pave 9 miles of I-205 between Johnson Creek Boulevard and the Glenn Jackson Bridge, including some ramps, build auxiliary lanes in three locations, install ODOT RealTime electronic signs and make pedestrian improvements at Glisan Street.

Traffic Impacts: Nighttime single and double lane closures in both directions from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Exit 17 nighttime ramp closures.

The Exit 17 on- and off-ramps toward Foster Road will be periodically closed at from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect lane closures on Woodstock Boulevard and Foster Road.

Interstate 205 – East Portland Freeway – I-5 to the Abernethy Bridge

Project Description: This project repaved both directions of I-205 between the I-5 interchange in Tualatin and the south end of the Abernethy Bridge in West Linn. This summer work on bridge joints will take place.

Traffic Impacts: Nighttime single lane closures in both directions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays, 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday and until 8 a.m. Sunday.

U.S. 26 – Sunset Highway – Cornelius Pass Road to 185th Avenue

Project Description: This project will widen U.S. 26 to three lanes in each direction between Cornelius Pass Road and NW 185th Avenue, replace the two Rock Creek bridges with one bridge, improve the north side of the Cornelius Pass Road interchange and build a sound wall on the north side of U.S. 26 in the Rock Creek neighborhood.

Traffic Impacts: Periodic shoulder closures.

U.S. 26 – Sunset Highway – Regional Connections

Project Description: This project is the next phase of ODOT RealTime, a system that provides real-time traffic information on roads to help travelers get where they're going more safely and efficiently. New electronic signs will be installed on U.S. 26 between I-405 and OR 217 and on I-84 between I-5 and I-205. New technology will be installed on TV Highway from OR 217 to Brookwood Parkway and on local Washington County roads.

U.S. 26 – Powell Boulevard – Safety Improvements

Project Description: This project will make safety improvements on Powell Boulevard from Southeast 20th to 34th Avenues. Improvements include installing pedestrian activated beacons, new signs improved lighting, and crosswalk and sidewalk improvements.

Traffic Impacts: Daytime single lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 starting at 7 a.m.

U.S. 26 – Mt. Hood Highway – Boring Road Bridge Raising

Project Description: The SE 282nd Avenue/Boring Road overpass will be raised, repaired and resurfaced in 2018

Traffic Impacts: The Boring Road overpass will be closed July 5-September 28. Single lane closures on U.S. 26 weekdays.

Westbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and eastbound lane closures from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Narrow shoulders.

U.S. 26 – Mt. Hood Highway – Mirror Lake (Milepost 52)

Project Description: Relocate the Mirror Lake trailhead and parking lot along U.S. 26 west of Government Camp.

Traffic Impacts: Flaggers will direct travelers weekdays during daylight hours. Expect 20-minute delays.

Oregon 8 – Tualatin Valley Highway – Regional Connections 

Project Description: This project is the next phase of ODOT RealTime, a system that provides real-time traffic information on roads to help travelers get where they're going more safely and efficiently.

Oregon 99E – McLoughlin Boulevard – Rockfall Improvement

Project Description: This project will increase the stability of the hillside and traffic safety of OR 99E in Oregon City. Rock work will occur from the south side of the Railroad Avenue tunnel through Old Canemah Park.

Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. This project is complete.

Oregon 99W – Barbur Boulevard – Bridge Repair

Project Description: The City of Portland is repairing the viaduct over OR 99W from SW Capitol Highway to OR 99W (Barbur Boulevard) northbound.

Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. This project is complete.

Oregon 213 – 82nd Avenue – SE Lindy Street to SE King Road

Project Description: This project will pave SE 82nd Avenue from SE Lindy Street to SE King Road and install new sidewalk curb ramps.

Traffic Impacts: Expect day and nighttime single lane closures for paving. Pedestrian and cyclist detours.

Expect nighttime single lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Saturday nights. Flaggers may direct traffic at night. Daytime single lane closures from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

Oregon 213 – 82nd Avenue – Signal Upgrades

Project Description: This project will upgrade traffic signals and install sidewalk curb ramps on SE 82nd Avenue at the intersections of SE Foster Road, SE Woodstock Boulevard and SE Flavel Street. Construction is expected through 2018.

Traffic Impacts: Day and nighttime single lane closures from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and pedestrian detours at Foster, Woodstock and Flavel.

Oregon 213 – Cascade Highway South – South Union Mills

Project Description: This project will improve safety on OR 213 at the intersection of South Union Mills Road by leveling out the crest of the hill to increase driver’s ability to see oncoming and turning traffic. This project will also add a standard right-turn lane on Union Mills and a center turning lane on OR 213 for southbound traffic.

Traffic Impacts: Periodic flagging between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

Oregon 213 – Cascade Highway South – Highway repairs in Mulino

Project Description: Repair work is underway to install drains to create a path for water under the highway. Record setting rains reactivated an ancient landslide in March 2017. Roadway conditions will continue to change as additional movement of the landslide is expected.

Traffic Impacts: Expect flaggers or a temporary signal directing traffic 24/7 beginning as soon as Thursday.
