PORTLAND
-- Northbound Interstate 5 will be closed at Interstate 84 for the second and
final time this Friday night through Monday morning as part of the I-5 paving
project.
During
the closure, all northbound traffic over the Marquam Bridge will exit the
freeway at I-84. Through northbound I-5 traffic will take Interstate 405 over
the Fremont Bridge back to I-5.
The
closure will be in place from:
- 10
p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6.
Four
on-ramps to northbound I-5 will be closed at the same time:
- The
westbound Morrison Bridge on-ramp.
- The
eastbound Morrison Bridge on-ramp.
- The
North Williams Avenue on-ramp, near North Broadway.
- The
Southwest 5th Avenue on-ramp to I-405.
This
work is taking place concurrently with closure of the westbound Interstate 84
ramp to northbound I-5, which is also scheduled to re-open at 5 a.m. Monday, Aug.
6. Doing this work simultaneously limits the number of full ramp closures to
I-84 that the public would experience.
The closure is part of the Interstate 5 Paving Project
between the Interstate Bridge and Moda Center For more information about all the summer highway closures in the
Portland area, go to BigFixPDX.com.
