SALEM – A committee formed to recommend rules to award funds that will improve public transportation throughout Oregon will meet from 2 to 5 p.m., March 13, at ODOT’s Region 2 campus in Building X, 885 Airport Road SE, Salem. The committee will review and form recommendations on the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund, or STIF, draft rules for the Discretionary and Intercommunity Discretionary funds.

Meeting materials for the Rules Advisory Committee meeting will be available on the STIF Project website on Mar. 6.

The Rules Advisory Committee previously recommended a set of draft General and Formula Fund Rules to the Oregon Transportation Commission in February. The Oregon Transportation Commission is expected to review these recommended draft Rules at its March 15 meeting.

Community members throughout Oregon may listen to the committee meeting using remote participation information provided on meeting agendas. Time is reserved at each meeting to lhear from community members. The STIF is a centerpiece of the Keep Oregon Moving (HB 2017) transportation bill from the 2017 Oregon legislative session. The Oregon Transportation Commission will adopt administrative rules later this year to distribute STIF funds to qualified transportation providers in 2019.
