Oregon 213 at South Union Mills Road open house planned for Feb. 13

ODOT and Clackamas County invite the public to attend an open house Tuesday, Feb. 13 for the Oregon 213 – Cascade Highway South – Safety Improvement Project at South Union Mills Road.

This project will increase the safety for travelers at this intersection by improving visibility.

The open house is planned for:

When: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Where: Arrowhead Golf Club – Payne’s Stewart Meeting Room located at
28301 Cascade Hwy, Molalla, OR 97038

What: Attendees can listen to a brief presentation about the project at 5:15 p.m. or 6:15 p.m. (both presentations are the same). Open house displays will be set up and staff from ODOT and Clackamas County will be available to discuss the project.

The project will:

• Level out the crest on OR 213 to improve visibility by raising the slant of the highway.

• Add a standard right-turn lane and shoulder on Union Mills to separate left and right turn movements.

• Add a two-stage turn for westbound traffic on Union Mills to turn onto OR 213, which allows cars to move into the turning lane on OR 213 before entering southbound traffic.

• Pave a section of OR 213 and Union Mills Road.

• Install new traffic signs.

• Construct mountable curbs along properties at the intersection to divert stormwater.
Some construction activities have already occurred. The majority of construction is scheduled for spring through fall 2018.

OR 213 landslide in Mulino

The public is also invited to attend this open house to talk about the landslide and repair work on OR 213 in Mulino. Representatives from ODOT and Clackamas County will be available to discuss the landslide and repair work taking place.
