ODOT updated investment strategy for Metro’s regional transportation plan available online

ODOT has posted online its project list for inclusion in Metro’s Regional Transportation Plan, the regional transportation priorities for the next 25 years.

Metro updates its plan every four years. The plan establishes regional investment priorities for the coming 25 years for freight, bicycle, pedestrian, auto and transit projects. Projects must be included in the RTP to be eligible for federal funding.

ODOT updated its proposed project list after evaluating problems and needs and considering public input. The list is available for public review and comment at http://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=RTP.

ODOT, TriMet, cities and counties categorize projects by implementation timeframe and by whether they are on the financially constrained list (2018-27 or 2028-40 projects) or strategic investment list (2028-40 projects).

ODOT and jurisdictions will submit revised project lists to Metro in April. Metro will consolidate the lists and provide them for public review this summer, prior to Metro Council action in fall 2018.

The public may visit Metro’s online open house, available through Feb. 17, to review and comment on the list.
