TRUCKING ADVISORY: High wind warning in forecast for Columbia Gorge
The strongest east winds so far this season are expected to develop in and near the western Columbia River Gorge Tuesday night and last at least through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
East-to-northeast wind could reach 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph. The windiest locations in the Columbia River Gorge may see gusts as strong as 90 or even 100 mph. Travel will become difficult along the Interstate 84 and SR-14 corridors tonight through Thursday, especially for high-profile vehicles.
