Are you winter ready? Take this really hard quiz to find out
SALEM – In Oregon, we know life doesn’t stop just because it’s raining (or snowing), but there are things we can do to keep ourselves and others safe when we’re out and about. Throughout December, we’ll be sharing tips to keep you safe whether you’re out for a drive, on a walk or biking to work or play; to discover the tip, all you have to do is take the quiz. (Of course – and here’s tip #1 – if it’s flooding, a real blizzard out or icy, should you consider staying in? See the answer below.)
Visit our Winter Driving Tips website and click on the “Winter Driving Guide” on the right. Print the brochure and carry it with you as you continually check your vehicle and supplies. Traveling on two wheels? Layer your clothing, and keep retro reflective tape visible in several locations. Use lights and be alert for others who aren’t. If you’re walking in potentially icy conditions, consider buying traction cleats for your shoes. If it’s been raining steadily, make sure you are paying attention so you don’t step off a curb and into deep water.
Find more tips online and watch for our super difficult quizzes coming up. Test your knowledge, learn something new – and have a happy, safe holiday season. (Answer: Yes, you should probably consider staying in if the weather is really bad.)
