Closures along I-84, I-405 and U.S. 26 happen Friday night

ODOT crews will perform a number of routine bridge inspections and wash the inside of the Vista Ridge Tunnel Friday night. Travelers should plan for several lane and ramp closures along Interstate 84, Interstate 405 and U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway) from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

Here is what to expect:

Interstate 84 between NE 33rd and Interstate 5

Crews will close the left and center lanes of I-84 in both directions to inspect the NE 12th Avenue overpass. Once the inspection work is complete in this area, crews will reopen the left and center lanes and close the right lane and right shoulder in both directions.

The following on-ramps will close to prevent travelers from entering the work zone:

  • Interstate 5 southbound on-ramp to I-84 eastbound
  • Grand Avenue/Oregon Highway 99E on-ramp to I-84 eastbound
  • N.E. 33rd Avenue on-ramp to I-84 westbound

Interstate 405 at U.S. 26 Sunset Highway

Washing the inside of the Vista Ridge Tunnels and performing inspections along overpasses will close lanes and off-ramps at the Interstate 405 and U.S. 26 interchanges Friday night.

The following closures will occur:

  • I-405 northbound off-ramp to U.S. 26 westbound and SW 12th Avenue (exit 1D)
  • SW Sixth Avenue on-ramp to I-405 northbound
  • Clay Street on-ramp to U.S. 26
  • Double lane closures on U.S. 26 in both directions through tunnels

Travelers can access westbound U.S. 26 using I-405 southbound (exit 1D).

Please plan for delays during these closures and please watch for crews who are working to keep your bridges safe and tunnels clean. Visit TripCheck.com to plan for alternate routes.
