Paving planned on area bridges in Clatsop, Tillamook, Columbia and Washington counties
ASTORIA—A contractor working for the Oregon Department of Transportation will be paving the decks of 11 area bridges starting on August 14 and continuing in to September. Most of the work will be done during the day with single lane closures. Travelers should expect delays.
The scheduled bridge work is as follows:
In Tillamook County (2)
Kilches River Bridge, U.S. 101 at milepost 63 in Tillamook. Monday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Lee’s Camp Bridge, OR 6 at milepost 23.6 east of Tillamook. Tuesday to Thursday, August 29-31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
In Clatsop County (5)
North Fork Necanicum River Bridge, U.S. 26 at milepost 7 east of Seaside. Tuesday, August 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Necanicum River Bridge, U.S. 26 at milepost 10 east of Seaside. Tuesday to Wednesday, August 15-16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; East Humbug Creek Bridge, U.S. 26 at milepost 17.4 east of Seaside.Wednesday to Thursday, August 16-17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Belt Line Bridge at U.S. 101B milepost 7. Monday to Tuesday, August 28-29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Neawanna Creek Bridge on U.S. 101 (in Seaside). Wednesday, Sept. 6-7, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (night).
In Columbia County (3)
Nehalem River Bridge on OR 202 at milepost 40.6 near Birkenfeld. Monday to Tuesday, Aug. 28-29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Oak Ranch Bridge on OR 47 milepost 53 west of Vernonia. Monday to Tuesday, August 28-29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Tide Creek Bridge on U.S. 30 milepost 36.5 west of Columbia City. Monday to Tuesday, Sept. 11-12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In Washington County (1)
Devils Lake Bridge on OR 6 milepost 32 west of Banks. Tuesday to Wednesday, Aug. 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Variable message signs will be placed in various locations warning travelers of the planned deck work and potential delays.
