Buses will travel to Klamath Falls until train service resumes
SALEM - The HighDesert POINT Bus routes 6111 and 6211 from Bend/Redmond to Chemult have been canceled until further notice. These routes normally serve passengers that arrive and depart in Chemult on the Amtrak Coast Starlight, and that train is temporarily canceled due to track issues resulting from an incident in Redding, Calif. on April 28.
To assist travelers, the two remaining HighDesert bus routes are being temporarily adjusted to travel to Klamath Falls, where riders can connect with other options such as the SouthWest POINT bus service.
The POINT website and Amtrak website have been updated with the new schedules. The change is expected to last until at least mid-May.
The five POINT routes are:
• Cascades POINT - Portland to Eugene
• Eastern POINT - Bend to Ontario
• HighDesert POINT - Redmond to Chemult Amtrak Station
• NorthWest POINT - Portland to Cannon Beach and Astoria
• SouthWest POINT - Klamath Falls to Medford, Grants Pass, and Brookings
