SALEM - The Oregon Speed Zone Review Panel will hold a series of public meetings, with the first one beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14 at the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife Building’s Commission Room, 4034 Fairview Industrial Drive SE in Salem. The panel is looking into the impacts of raising speed limits for trucks from 55 mph to 60 mph on the interstate in certain areas, and the public is invited to provide input. Public comments can also be submitted to interstatespeedcomments@odot.state.or.us.

- Monday, March 20, 5:30 p.m.: Ty Taylor Fire Station, Leonard Hay Community Room, 1785 Meyer Parkway, Hood River.
- Wednesday, March 22, 5:30 p.m.: Medford Santo Community Center Main Hall, 701 N. Columbus Ave., Medford.
The meetings will begin with a report from ODOT engineers, followed by discussion and public input. ODOT’s presentation will include preliminary data from an engineering investigation of raising the speed limits for trucks to 60 mph on sections of interstate where the speed limit is currently 55 mph. This includes sections of I-5, I-84 and I-205. Related material is available for review online.
