January 14-21, 2017*

No traffic impacts will take place from noon Friday, Jan. 13 through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Interstate 84 – Paving Sandy River to Multnomah Falls
Project Description: This project will pave about 14-miles of Interstate 84 from the Sandy River (just east of Troutdale) to Multnomah Falls. Bikes are advised to use the Historic Highway State Trail during construction.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts until work resumes in January 2017.

U.S. 26 – Sunset Highway – Cornelius Pass Road to 185th Avenue
Project Description: This project will widen U.S. 26 to three lanes in each direction between Cornelius Pass Road and NW 185th Avenue, replace the two Rock Creek bridges with one bridge, improve the north side of the Cornelius Pass Road interchange and build a sound wall on the north side of U.S. 26 in the Rock Creek neighborhood.
Traffic Impacts: Daytime shoulder closures on U.S. 26 (between Cornelius Pass Road and NW 185th Avenue).

U.S. 26 – Sunset Highway – Regional Connections Project
Project Description: This project is the next phase of ODOT RealTime, a system that provides real-time traffic information on roads to help travelers get where they're going more safely and efficiently. New electronic signs will be installed on U.S. 26 between I-405 and OR 217 and on I-84 between I-5 and I-205. New technology will be installed on TV Highway from OR 217 to Brookwood Parkway and on local Washington County roads. During sign installations on U.S. 26 and I-84, there will be several full nighttime freeway closures. Work will be complete in fall 2017.
Traffic Impacts: Daytime lane closures on SW 185th and shoulder closures on U.S. 26 in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday to Friday for electrical work. Night work on U.S. 26 (between OR 217 and the Vista Ridge Tunnel) with lane closures beginning at 8 p.m. weekdays and lane closures on SW 185th.
Periodic nighttime closures of the multi-use path along the south side of U.S. 26. (between SW 79th Avenue and SW Katherine Lane) with detours. Path users should expect a section of path reduced to 6 feet.

U.S. 26 – Mt. Hood Highway – Ross Island Bridge
Project Description: The Ross Island Bridge Rehabilitation Project is currently in the painting phase until 2017 after completing structural repair work in 2015. Crews will remove the existing paint and repaint the bridge’s steel structure the historic blue-green color it has worn since the 1960s. Work will occur over two years, during spring, summer and fall.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. Some nighttime and/or weekend lane closures will be necessary at a later time and will be noted here when scheduled.

U.S. 26 – Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Repair Project (City of Portland)
Project Description: Work has started on an Environmental Services project to replace and repair 4,508 feet of aging sewer pipe.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts until January/February 2017.

Oregon Highway 8 – Pacific Avenue – OR 47 (Quince Street) Improvement Project
Project Description: In preparation for an improvement project at the intersection of OR 8 and OR 47 in Forest Grove, utility work is underway and will continue through February 2017. The improvement project will begin in March 2017 and will build a dedicated right-turn lane for southbound road users on Quince Street turning onto Pacific Avenue, build a standard right-turn lane on westbound Pacific Avenue for road users turning onto Quince Street, build standard bike lanes on the east and north sides of the intersection, improve sidewalks and ramps, and add a raised median on Pacific Avenue on the east side of the intersection.
Traffic Impacts: Expect daytime lane closures on southbound OR 47 (Quince Street) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.

Oregon Highway 8 – Cornelius Pass/TV Highway Intersection Project (Private Developer)
Project Description: As part of a private development, construction is underway to extend Cornelius Pass Road south across TV Highway and the railroad tracks. Improvements on TV Highway also include adding a right turn lane on TV Highway eastbound and a left turn lane on TV Highway westbound for Cornelius Pass Road, adding new street lighting on the north side of TV Highway, and building a buffered bike lane on westbound TV Highway.
Traffic Impacts: Nighttime single lane closures on eastbound TV Highway (west of Cornelius Pass Road) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays.

Oregon Highway 213 – SE 82nd Avenue – at Sandy Boulevard
Project Description: This project will improve traveler safety on NE 82nd Avenue (OR 213) at NE Sandy Boulevard, by upgrading the sidewalk ramps and traffic signals at the intersection. ODOT is partnering with law enforcement for extra presence in the construction zone.
Traffic Impacts: Periodic lane closures on NE 82nd Avenue and NE Sandy Boulevard from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

Oregon Highway 213 – SE 82nd Avenue – Intersection Improvement Project
Project Description: This project will improve safety and increase traffic flow on SE 82nd Avenue (OR 213) at six intersections (E Burnside, SE Stark, SE Washington, SE Yamhill, SE Mill and SE Division streets) by upgrading the sidewalk ramps, traffic signals, and adding lighting. Additionally three enhanced crossing will be added for pedestrians at SE Ash Street, Salmon Street, and just north of SE Division Street at Portland Community College. ODOT is partnering with law enforcement for extra presence in the construction zone.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts until early 2017.

Oregon Highway 212/224 – Sunrise JTA Project
Project Description: The Sunrise JTA Project (Jobs and Transportation Act) will address congestion and safety problems in the Oregon Highway 212/224 corridor. The Sunrise Expressway opened July 1.
Traffic Impacts: Periodic shoulder closures Tuesday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Sunrise Expressway and local roads such as Minuteman Way. Tuesday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., expect traffic directed by flaggers on SE 82nd Avenue between Enoch Way and the I-205 northbound exit (Exit 13) to OR 224.

Region 1 Rumble Strip Installation Project
Project Description: This project will install rumble strips in the center and shoulder of several highway segments around the region, as well as reflective pavement markers, as a way to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes.
