DMV offices close Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving

Customers advised to avoid offices just before and after Thanksgiving break

All Oregon DMV offices, along with other state offices normally open weekdays, will be closed on both Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 24 and 25.
Customer wait times tend to be longer on the days just before and after holidays and weekends. DMV urges customers to do business by mail or online, if possible, or plan their visits to DMV before Wednesday, Nov. 23, or after Monday, Nov. 28.
DMV also suggests that you first check www.OregonDMV.com before visiting a field office in person to make sure you have everything you need. You can complete some DMV business online or find out how to make your visit as efficient as possible.
If you renew your vehicle registration online at OregonDMV.com, you can print the online receipt and drive temporarily with expired tags. Law enforcement can accept the online receipt as proof of valid registration for up to 30 days after you renew. New tags typically arrive by mail within 3-5 business days.
Also, all DMV offices now accept debit/credit card payments, as well as cash or checks. If you do need to visit DMV in person, you can check wait times for many offices during normal business hours at OregonDMV.com.
