Event: Play on the Grade
U.S. 20 Pioneer Mountain –Eddyville Construction Celebration
Date: October 1, 2016 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Speakers scheduled: 1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Gates open for parking at 12:30 p.m.
You are welcome to join state and community leaders, along with hundreds of local residents, in celebrating the nearly ready to open new alignment of the U.S. 20 Pioneer Mountain-Eddyville Project. The public will be able to explore most of the new roadway as they travel 2.2 miles to the event location, and then walk, run, or bike an additional 2.2 miles of the new roadway. People will have the opportunity to stop at seven different spots to talk with Oregon Department of Transportation staff about the engineering challenges and solutions in completing the roadway. By mid-October, the majority of the road will open to traffic. The west end-tie in will be completed in summer 2017.
Location: Eddyville, OR U.S. 20 milepost 23.99
Directions: Turn off of U.S. 20 (Corvallis-Newport Highway) onto the new roadway at the marked entrance. Follow flagger direction to the parking area. There will be a shuttle van available for transport to the event site.
