Night closure Wednesday for OR 43 ramps to I-5, Ross Island Bridge, Lake Oswego
The OR 43 (Southwest Macadam Avenue) ramps leading to southbound Interstate 5, Lake Oswego, downtown Portland and the Ross Island Bridge will close Wednesday night as crews apply permanent striping to the new pavement on the OR 43 ramp deck.
The I-5 northbound off-ramp at exit 299A also will be closed.
The closures will be in place from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept 1.
Travelers should continue to plan their detour routes in advance of the additional nighttime closures.
The OR 43 (Southwest Macadam Avenue) ramp and other affected ramps re-opened last weekend after a two-week closure for a new concrete overlay on the OR 43 ramp deck.
The ramps affected are:
- Northbound OR 43 (Southwest Macadam Avenue) ramp to Southwest Kelly and Hood avenues.
- Northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp, exit 299A, leading to OR 43 (Southwest Macadam Avenue), southbound I-5, Lake Oswego, downtown Portland and the eastbound Ross Island Bridge.
- Westbound Ross Island Bridge ramp to Southwest Hood Avenue, which leads to southbound I-5 and Lake Oswego. Southwest Corbett Avenue will remain open.
About 15,000 vehicles a day use this section of road to reach downtown Portland and the Ross Island Bridge.
During the closure, people on foot and on bicycle may continue to use the Congresswoman Darlene Hooley Pedestrian Bridge over I-5, just south of the Ross Island Bridge. The pedestrian bridge is unaffected by this project.
