US97/OR58 Paving Due

Paving US97 starts 8/21 – OR58 mid-September

BEND – The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has awarded a contract to Oregon Mainline Paving to repave approximately 36 miles of OR 58 and US 97. The repaving work in 2016 will include approximately 4 miles of OR 58 from MP 75 to MP 79, a mile on OR 58 adjacent to the 97/58 junction, and roughly 20 miles of US 97 between the UPRR Overcrossing (MP 201.7) and Military Crossing Road (MP 221).

Paving on US97 is scheduled to begin August 21st. Work will be done at night between 5 pm and 7 am, Sunday through Thursday evenings. Travelers can expect flagger controlled lane restrictions and delays up to 20 minutes through the work zone. This year’s work is expected to be complete by the end of September.

Work on OR 58 is expected to begin in mid-September, with paving at night and lane restrictions controlled by flaggers as well.

Once complete, durable striping, centerline and shoulder rumble strips, and recessed pavement markers will be installed.

The work in 2017 will include paving the remainder of OR 58 between Crescent Lake and the OR 58/US 97 Junction.
