Updated work schedule: Interstate Bridge lifts

Expect intermittent bridge lifts in both directions overnight Wed-Friday

Oregon Department of Transportation bridge crews are performing maintenance lifts for electrical testing and cable oiling this week. Below is a schedule of bridge lifts that will take place intermittently in both directions.

During the bridge lifts, travelers could expect up to 30-minute delays:

• Wednesday, June 22 to the morning of Thursday, June 23: Both directions of the Interstate Bridge will lift and close intermittently overnight, Wednesday, June 22 at 10 p.m. through Thursday, June 23 at 6 a.m., for bridge maintenance work.

• Thursday, June 23 to the morning of Friday, June 24: Both directions of the Interstate Bridge will lift and close intermittently overnight from Thursday, June 23 at 10 p.m. through Friday, June 24 at 6 a.m., for bridge maintenance work. 

• Friday, June 24 to the morning of Saturday, June 25: Both directions of the Interstate Bridge will lift and close intermittently overnight, from Friday, June 24 at 10 p.m. through Saturday, June 25 at 6 a.m., for bridge maintenance work.   

Alternative routes:
Travelers could use the Interstate 205 Glenn Jackson Bridge during the work periods.

People walking or biking across the Interstate Bridge are also affected by the bridge lifts. During bridge lifts that occur in only one direction at a time, people using sidewalks may use the opposite sidewalk. However, there will be times during the work when both spans are lifted and sidewalks are closed.
