UPDATE – RAMP CLOSURE SCHEDULE HAS CHANGED DUE TO WEATHER,
NEW DATES ARE LISTED BELOW IN RED
I-84 Exit 259 Eastbound off-ramp to be closed for few days in June
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) will be making repairs to the Interstate 84 Exit 259 eastbound off-ramp bridge in June. The ramp is located about two miles west of La Grande and connects I-84 with U.S. Highway 30. Due to its narrow width the single-lane exit ramp will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily June 13, June 20 and 21. During ramp closure times motorists will need to continue on I-84, then use Exit 261 to access La Grande. These dates are subject to changed, depending on weather conditions.
“ODOT bridge crews will be performing needed repairs to the bridge joints and decking at this freeway exit off-ramp,” said ODOT Bridge Crew Manager Richard Lani. “We realize this will be an inconvenience for some travelers, but there is not enough room for off-ramp traffic and work crews at the same time. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and will work to get the project completed as soon as possible.”
The bridge repair work requires dry pavement. In the event of wet weather the project and ramp closure may be postponed. Highway reader boards near the work site will indicate unforeseen schedule changes.
