SKATS to hold open house June 1
I-5 widening projects to be considered
SALEM--. The public is invited to attend an open house to comment on proposed changes to the Regional Transportation Systems Plan (RTSP) and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The open house will be held June 1 from 5 to 7 p.m., at 100 High St SE, Suite 200 in Salem.
A public hearing is scheduled for noon on Tuesday, June 28,
at 100 High St. SE, Suite 200; Salem
It is proposed to amend the RTSP and TIP to include the following two projects:
- Widening I-5 between the Kuebler Boulevard interchange to the Delaney Road interchange in both directions with an additional travel lane. Rebuild the Battle Creek Road overpass and the I-5 overpass of the Commercial Street off-ramp.
- Start the planning process to widen I-5 from the Delaney Road interchange south to Albany.Staff from Salem-Keizer Area Transportation Study (SKATS) will conduct the open house and public hearing. SKATS is the designated metropolitan planning organization for the Salem-Keizer urbanized area and is responsible for regional transportation planning.
