Traffic Advisory: Paving will close some highway ramps in East Portland overnight Friday night

The OR 213 (SE 82nd Avenue) southbound transition ramp to OR 224 Milwaukie Expressway westbound will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, April 15 to 5 a.m. Saturday, April 16 for pavement grinding.

The eastbound OR 224 transition ramp to southbound I-205 will be closed at the same time.

Detour signs will direct travelers. Please slow down and pay close attention! April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month. ODOT asks travelers to “Ditch the Distractions” and stay safe.

The highway construction project requiring these closures, the Sunrise JTA Project, is addressing congestion and safety problems in the OR 212/224 corridor. Major new project elements include a four-lane limited-access highway from the Milwaukie Expressway at I-205 to Southeast 122nd Avenue at OR 212/224; an overcrossing connecting 82nd Drive and 82nd Avenue; and a shared-use path paralleling the highway.
