Central Oregon Road Construction UPDATE: Week of April 4, 2016

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers. All work is dependent on weather conditions. Red denotes new or updated information.

DESCHUTES COUNTY

US97 @ Wickiup Jct. (La Pine)

Project Consists of Bridge, Earthwork, and Drainage along US97.

For the week of April 4th, 2016. Contractor placing embankment on the East side of the BNSF tracks on mainline. Bent 2 Footing will be formed, reinforcement bar installed, and a tentative concrete pour date for the Bent 2 Footing is scheduled for the middle of the week. The MSE wall construction will begin and the contractor will start placing the wall backfill accordingly.

Sunriver to Lava Butte Multi-Use Path Project

Construction of a Multi-Use Paved Path from Cascade Road in Sunriver to Benham East Day Use Area and Lava Lands Visitor Center.

For the week of April 4th, 2016. Contractor has finished all kiosk work.

 

KLAMATH COUNTY

OR 140: Ritter Rd. – Deer Run Rd. (Bly Mtn.)

This project will reconstruct 9.2 miles of OR 140 in the Bly Mountain area (from Ritter Road to Deer Run Road). The intersection of OR 140 and the Bly Mountain Cutoff Road will be realigned.

 

Paving, aggregate base placement, pipe work, excavation, embankment

One lane traffic controlled by Flaggers and Pilot Cars 24/7

Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

LAKE COUNTY

US395: Alkali Lake – Lake Abert

Cold plane paving removal, concrete stabilization work, paving.

One Lane Traffic controlled by Flaggers and Pilot cars 24 hours / 7 days a week..

WASCO COUNTY

I-84: The Dalles – Fifteenmile Creek MP 83.5 – 88.5

Wildish Standard Paving Company will be replacing the concrete pavement located on Interstate 84 within the city limits of The Dalles. They will also be constructing a new bridge on I-84 over Threemile Creek. The work will take place in stages in order to minimize delays and ensure that both freeway lanes are open in each direction during peak traffic volumes.

For the week of April 4th, 2016. The contractor will be performing excavation and sub-base work to prepare for concrete paving. Also, the contractor will be building formwork to prepare for a deck pour at the 3-mile creek bridge structure.

I-84 is reduced to a single lane in both the east and westbound direction. Speeds have been reduced to 50mph through the construction zone.

US 97: Moro to Madras

KERR Contractors will be replacing 29 miles of pavement on U.S. 97 between Grass Valley (MP 27.1) and Shaniko (MP 56.7). The project also includes the construction of passing lanes between MP 43.8 and MP 45.4, installation of new highway signs between Moro and Madras, and adding ADA compliant sidewalk ramps in Grass Valley.

For the week of April 4th, 2016. The Contractor will begin Asphalt paving operations in Grass Valley.
