Central Oregon Road Construction UPDATE: Week of March 14, 2016

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers. All work is dependent on weather conditions.

DESCHUTES COUNTY
US97 @ Wickiup Jct. (La Pine)
Realign U.S. 97 to the east of its current location and build a railroad overpass to the south of the exiting at-grade crossing. Reconnect Burgess Road to the realigned U.S. 97.
Contractor working on clearing and grubbing the site and preparing the Rosland borrow site to begin excavation of embankment material. The contractor will be excavating subgrade on mainline to prepare this site for the placement of embankment material, as well as starting excavation of bent 2 of the bridge structure.
This work is taking place away from US97 proper. No delays are expected.

Sunriver to Lava Butte Multi-Use Path Project
Construction of a Multi-Use Paved Path from Cascade Road in Sunriver to Benham East Day Use Area and Lava Lands Visitor Center.
Contractor working on Kiosk at Lava Lands visitor center as well as Benham falls location. This work will have no impact to motor vehicle traffic.
KLAMATH COUNTY
OR 140: Ritter Rd. – Deer Run Rd. (Bly Mtn.)
This project will reconstruct 9.2 miles of OR 140 in the Bly Mountain area (from Ritter Road to Deer Run Road). The intersection of OR 140 and the Bly Mountain Cutoff Road will be realigned.
Pavement removal, blasting, excavation, embankment, pipe work.
Travel limited to one lane. Traffic controlled by Flaggers and Pilot cars 24 hours / 7 days a week. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.
LAKE COUNTY
US 395: Alkali Lake – Lake Abert Section MP 50 – 73.3
This project will reconstruct approximately 24 miles of U.S. 395 from Alkali Lake to Lake Abert.
Construction work will resume on March 15th: Grinding, concrete stabilization work, paving

WASCO COUNTY
I-84: The Dalles – Fifteenmile Creek MP 83.5 – 88.5
Wildish Standard Paving Company will be replacing the concrete pavement located on Interstate 84 within the city limits of The Dalles. They will also be constructing a new bridge on I-84 over Threemile Creek. The work will take place in stages in order to minimize delays and ensure that both freeway lanes are open in each direction during peak traffic volumes.
The contractor will continue shift traffic control devices around the exit 87 interchange in preparation for a traffic staging shift. Also, the contractor will be preparing for the final Bridge Construction stage.
All - I84 will be reduced to a single lane in both the east and westbound direction. Speeds have been reduced to 50mph through the construction zone.

US 97: Moro to Madras
KERR Contractors will be replacing 29 miles of pavement on U.S. 97 between Grass Valley (MP 27.1) and Shaniko (MP 56.7). The project also includes the construction of passing lanes between MP 43.8 and MP 45.4, installation of new highway signs between Moro and Madras and adding ADA compliant sidewalk ramps in Grass Valley.
The Contractor will be performing some aggregate processing in King Quarry. No other work is being performed onsite. There will be no delays to motorists.
