Traffic signal work planned in Milton-Freewater, Pendleton
starting Jan. 19
PENDLETON, Ore. – Oregon Department of Transportation crews will be upgrading several traffic signals in Umatilla County to improve traffic flow and bring them into compliance with statewide policy for signal operation. Traveler can expect work in Milton-Freewater January 19, followed by signal changes in Pendleton that should be completed by the end of the week. Travelers are advised to watch for crews working near signals and to pay attention to the new signal operations.
Signal changes include removing the night time yellow flash operation. Those signals that switch to a yellow flash configuration during late evening/early morning hours will be changed to operate with a full signal cycle (green, yellow, red) at all times.
Additional changes will take place to signals in Pendleton at the Dorian / SW 10th Street and the Dorian / SW 4th Street intersections to improve traffic flow for most travelers.
The timing is also being adjusted for the Court / SW 10th Street signal to improve flow when motorists are traveling the posted speed limit along Court Street.
