U-PACT Program Highlighted
Recently, the Union Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training program (U-PACT) at CCCF was featured in two articles—one in Forbes and the other in Northwest Labor Press. The Forbes article focuses on the growing need for “green skills” in the workforce skills that improve energy efficiency and resilience to extreme weather and how DOC’s partnership with PGE and U-PACT Oregon is helping to train individuals to meet that growing need. The Northwest Labor Press article highlights Ashley Lautenschlager, a CCCF U-PACT graduate from March 2024, who has spent the last year since her release as an official apprentice with Ironworkers Local 29.
DOC has had six former AICs from CCCF join one of the three trades in the month of August alone—which is just amazing!
