Housing Accountability and Production Office Public Comment Opportunity
The is updating policies and procedures for Technical Assistance and Funding. Local governments will soon have additional opportunities to access resources to address: voluntary compliance for housing laws; general development code updates amending land use regulations; model code implementation; and one-time expansions of urban growth boundaries.
The office seeks feedback on how new funding opportunities can best:
- Support proactive voluntary compliance with housing laws.
- Support reliable and effective implementation for local governments.
- Reduce housing production barriers.

After the feedback period closes, HAPO will refine proposed amendments and publish the revised documents in the following weeks. Once published, local governments may request assistance under new funding opportunities as provided in the document. Requests for technical assistance will be accepted on a rolling basis and otherwise consistent with HAPO’s technical assistance funding policies and procedures.
