Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap Community Meeting
Monday, June 16 | 5:30–7:30 p.m. North Bend Community Center 2222 Broadway Ave, North Bend, OR 97459
The Department of Land Conservation and Development will be hosting a community meeting around the development of a state Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap. The 2024 legislature passed House Bill 4080, which tasks DLCD to develop an Offshore Wind Roadmap that, “defines standards to be considered in the processes related to offshore wind energy development and approval.” The bill mentions a number of specific areas that the Roadmap needs to address, including protecting the environment, Tribal interests, workforce standards, and local and regional communities and economies.
In November 2024, DLCD began a public process to develop the Offshore Wind Roadmap, including voices from across the coast and around the state, and we expect to continue these conversations into next year. This upcoming community meeting is an opportunity for anyone interested to catch up to the conversation so far, ask questions, and tell us what you think.
Hear from the agency staff drafting the roadmap, ask questions, share your thoughts, and explore interactive exhibits on Oregon’s offshore wind future. Enjoy refreshments and take part in a participant survey to share your thoughts.
