Lincoln County Estuary Resilience

The State of Oregon is preparing for a series of community listening sessions to help guide the development of a coastal hazards vulnerability assessment for Lincoln County estuaries and surrounding communities. These community listening sessions will help us assess which hazards are of greatest concern to local communities, the assets, resources, and populations that are most vulnerable, and the impacts that are anticipated.

To help us get the most out of the listening sessions, we are asking for community feedback with a brief questionnaire: https://forms.gle/qo3dvAEkYMK568FB7.

The questionnaire should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses will help inform the structure and discussion of the listening sessions, which will occur in March 2024. Please share this notice with other individuals in your organization or community who may be interested in attending and able to provide critical local perspectives on coastal hazards vulnerability.

Background:

The Oregon Coastal Management Program, MidCoast Watersheds Council, and Oregon State University are leading the development of a coastal hazards vulnerability assessment for Lincoln County estuaries. The goal is to help local organizations and communities understand their vulnerabilities to a range of coastal hazards (e.g., sea level rise, storm surge, tsunami, erosion, etc.) and consider strategies to help coordinate and support locally led responses to those threats.

Thank you for participating in this effort - your input is critical to the project’s success.

Click here: https://forms.gle/qo3dvAEkYMK568FB7 to take the questionnaire now.

Please submit your responses by Tuesday, February 20th, at 5:00 p.m.

For questions or comments please email Michael Moses (michael.moses@dlcd.oregon.gov) at the Oregon Coastal Management Program.
