Climate Change Vulnerability Workshops

DLCD is pleased to announce six workshops in western Oregon where the public will be invited to share how climate change is affecting their quality of life. Knowledge gained at the workshops will help state planners design and prioritize climate change adaptation measures that support local values and aspirations. Visit https://bit.ly/ORClimateChangeVA more information.

The first 100 adults who register at bit.ly/CCVAMarch2023Workshop and attend a workshop will receive a gift card to Amazon.com in appreciation of their time.

Registration is not required, but will help us plan adequate food, childcare, interpretation, and other accommodation provided to make it easier to participate. Families are welcome to attend.

At each workshop, facilitators will summarize how weather patterns are changing in the area visited. These changes might include an increase in the number of hot days, changes in rainfall timing and amounts, reduced snowpacks, and more days with wildfire smoke. Workshop participants will engage in hands-on activities intended to encourage storytelling about how these changes might affect them, their family, work, and community.

Workshop attendance is not the only way to engage in this project. An online survey is available at  https://bit.ly/ORClimateChangeVA

Please share this information. We look forward to hosting productive and enlightening conversations with a wide audience.
