The Department of Land Conservation and Development’s Response to Governor Brown's Executive Order 20-04 Section 3 (D)

Governor Brown’s Executive Order 20-04 directed the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) and other state agencies to identify actions within their current statutory authority that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change impacts.

Responding to this order, DLCD prepared a memorandum to Governor Brown. The memo includes actions to which DLCD is currently committed, policy options, and other ideas. Along with our core work to promote efficient development and to protect the state’s natural resources, agricultural and forestry lands, DLCD is committed to continuing the work to cut climate pollution and help prepare Oregon for the effects of climate change.

DLCD is hosting a forum to hear feedback on this planning document. Participants will hear a short staff presentation on the contents of the memorandum and have an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback. Staff will summarize the results of the webinar for members of the Land Conservation and Development Commission at their meeting in July.

Community members who wish to comment specifically on the draft Every Mile Counts four-agency response to the Governor’s EO 20-04 Section 9 are encouraged to make comment directly on the Every Mile Counts website here.
