Food Resource Spotlight: Summer EBT + Double Up Food Bucks Program
Welcome to the Oregon Summer EBT Program for 2025!
Oregon Summer EBT is beginning its second year as a grocery benefits program which helps families buy groceries for their school-aged children during the summer break. Each summer, eligible families will get one payment of $120 for each eligible child in their home. Any unused EBT benefits will expire 122 days from the date they were originally issued.
Last year, Summer EBT benefits went to 362,242 children in Oregon which equates to $43.3 million in additional grocery benefits families spent in their communities. This year, Summer EBT benefits will begin issuing on May 23, 2025 for automatically eligible families. More information about automatic eligibility and who needs to apply for Summer EBT benefits in 2025 is below.
Based on post-program survey feedback, we learned that having a streamlined channel to receive the latest information about Summer EBT that can easily be shared is important. This updated newsletter platform will allow us to quickly get food resource information into the hands of our community partners and families across Oregon.
Please share this newsletter! Summer EBT benefits were issued to 42.6% of all students enrolled in Oregon schools in 2024, so chances are high that you may know a family or two who would benefit from additional information about Summer EBT. Please share this newsletter with community organizations, schools, businesses and families you are connected with.
Thank you for spreading the word about Summer EBT. With your help, more families can apply for and receive this benefit in 2025!
