MESSAGE TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Greetings,

In May, Disability Rights Oregon (DRO) and the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) reached a settlement in the Wyatt B. et al. vs. Kotek et al. case involving changes to improve the foster care system.

We would like to invite youth who have experienced foster care, or who are currently in foster care, to provide feedback on the settlement. You can read more about the settlement on the Disability Rights Oregon website or watch this brief animated video created by DRO in English or Spanish.

At the listening sessions, DRO and ODHS will talk about the feedback process in more detail, including an in-person fairness hearing in Eugene on September 12. Feedback ensures all youth voices are considered when the judge decides whether to approve the final settlement in September.
