Resume writing training for employment service providers
The Art of Resume Writing: Tailoring Skills for Job Success
July 17, noon to 1:30 p.m. — In this virtual session, job developers will get the tools you need to support your job seekers in creating resumes that catch the eye of employers, meet online AI requirements and land job seekers interviews.
VR is providing this training in partnership with Cornell University's Institute on Employment and Disability.
Provider Matters with VR & OCB, a virtual community of practice, to meet July 16
The new "Provider Matters with VR and OCB" community of practice (CoP) will meet at 9 a.m. the third Tuesday every other month (July 16, Sept. 17 and Nov. 19) . Thanks to all of you who took the survey about your preferred time to meet!
The provided Zoom link will be used for all future meetings, no registration needed. Zoom link for Provider Matters CoP
This CoP is specifically for VR and OCB contracted providers as a way to engage with our workforce teams, build community, share opportunities, knowledge and successes.

SRC meets Aug. 9 in Klamath Falls and online
The Oregon State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) will hold its third quarterly meeting of 2024, set for 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST Aug. 9 in Klamath Falls. This will be a hybrid meeting with an opportunity to attend virtually on Zoom.
The SRC works to ensure Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is consumer driven and that available programs, services and resources result in competitive integrated employment. Meetings are open to all.
Webinar series in July celebrates 34 years of civil rights for people with disabilities
The Oregon Disabilities Commission (ODC), Northwest ADA Center and Disability Rights Oregon will co-host a free webinar series in July in recognition and celebration of the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The series will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific Time on Tuesdays throughout July. Members of the public are welcome to participate.

VR seeks success stories for video
VR is planning a new This is VR video to spread the word about VR services through the experiences of participants. We're looking to capture footage of VR participants at their job. We will also feature several participants sharing their employment success! This is an amazing opportunity for outgoing VR participants who want to give back by helping others discover VR!
Filming will be scheduled in July and August. We will be looking to showcase a diversity of people and jobs. If you have a success story to share, please complete this Success Story Submission Form! Questions? Contact diane.navarrete2@odhs.oregon.gov.
