U.S. Postal Service info sessions  |  Bend

Feb. 8, 15, 22, 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Bend Post Office is hiring carriers. Career seekers are invited to the post office Thursdays in February to learn about benefits, qualifications and the application process. Laptops will be available for people to submit applications on site.

Medford School District job fair  |  Medford

Feb. 28, 1 to 3 p.m.  Career seekers will learn about open substitute teaching and education assistant positions. Hosted by WorkSource Oregon.

DOE career information session  |  Statewide

Feb. 29, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  – The U.S. Dept. of Energy is hosting a virtual career info session for individuals who are interested in careers in engineering and physical science. The agency is also actively recruiting students. Use the link to register; you can request accommodations through that link as well.

Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Series  |  Statewide

The Portland Metro office of WorkSource Oregon offers sessions to learn about skilled trades apprenticeship opportunities during the second week of each month from 3 to 5 p.m.

Lunch and Learn event scheduled Feb. 20

February 20 kicks off the 2024 Lunch and Learn series for business, a forum dedicated to disability in the workplace and hosted by VR and the Oregon Commission for the Blind (OCB). During this session, we’ll briefly review the purpose of the L&L series and previous session topics, and we'll provide a refresher on VR and OCB’s services available to businesses.The rest of the time will be dedicated to business partners, gathering their ideas and feedback regarding disability topics they’d like to learn about. Understanding SSA Benefits and Employment training

The Work Incentives Network will be hosting quarterly two-part sessions of its “Understanding SSA Benefits and Employment” training series. This six-hour course is delivered virtually over two mornings and is scheduled to take place on March 26-27, May 21-22, July 30-31, and November 5-6. Registration is currently open in Workday Learning.

Proposals due March 1 for two Willamette Workforce Partnership RFPs

Willamette Workforce Partnership announces two Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Both RFPs are seeking proposals from qualified and experienced organizations for the coordination and delivery of services in the Willamette Workforce region.

• WWP seeks qualified and experienced organizations for the coordination and delivery of high-quality, targeted services for Adult and Dislocated Workers in Linn, Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties, with work to begin on July 1, 2024. Proposals will be due on Friday, March 1.

• WWP seeks qualified and experienced organizations to deliver exceptional Community Career Coaching and WorkSource Navigation services in Linn, Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties, with work to begin on July 1, 2024. Proposals will be due on Friday, March 1.
