We want to extend our sincerest condolences to the families of Bashir Safdari, Ali Jan Ferdawsi and Mohammad Husain Musawi and our connected community. We mourn with all who have been impacted by their loss and know their legacy will live on.
Our ODHS leaders working with the community sent a message of solidarity yesterday and said, "the work of welcoming our newest neighbors takes more than one agency- in the Salem community, Salem for Refugees, who in partnership with countless others, have been central in these efforts. It is a reflection of how we are all interconnected across the world."
Salem for Refugees noted all three individuals were also part of a pilot training program sponsored by Salem For Refugees and Willamette Workforce Partnership. The partnerships created to welcome and support our new neighbors will continue and we, too remain committed to standing alongside our new neighbors during this tragic loss.
