VbBS advance material topics posted for public comment - closes at 8 am on 12/21/23

The Health Evidence Review Commission seeks written public comments on the following advance material topics:  

  • Vulvodynia And Vulvar Vestibulitis (A surgery that removes the outside of a woman’s genitals)
  • PANDAS/PANS Guideline Clarifications (Mental health symptoms developed after infection in children)
  • Guideline For Acute Nasal Fracture (Treatments for broken nose)
  • Lipoprotein Testing Review (A type of cholesterol test)
  • Coronary Lithotripsy (A procedure to help open blocked blood vessels to the heart)
  • Hepatic Metastases (Liver tumors that started out in some other part of the body)
  • Rectal Sensation Testing (A test to check how strong and flexible the muscles in the rectum are, and how well the walls of the rectum can stretch and contract)
  • Esophageal Balloon Dilation Provocation Testing (A test to check if the esophagus is causing chest pain that isn't related to the heart)
  • Peristeen Anal Irrigation (A system to help manage bowel issues by using irrigation through the anus)
  • Reflectance Confocal Microscopy (Examining the skin using a specialized tool that takes close-up image)
  • Pulmonary Artery Pressure Monitors (CardioMEMS) (Tracking pressure in the blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the lungs (pulmonary artery) for people with heart failure)
  • Intraocular Steroids For Uveitis (Using steroids inside the eye to treat eye inflammation)
  • PSA For Prostate Cancer Screening (A test to check for prostate cancer)
  • Facet Joint Injection (A shot to the joints of the spine)
  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (Feeling dizzy or like the world is spinning)

 

These advance meeting materials are now available, and comments received by 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 will receive a response and be considered in preparing the final meeting materials. Final materials will be posted on 1/11/2024.
