Due to the State Mandatory Furlough day occurring March 23, 2012, FluBites is being published March 22, 2012. Current national flu data is not available at the time of publication.

Summary:

During Week 11 (March 11 - March 17, 2012), OSPHL reported that 16 specimens tested positive for influenza.
17 influenza-related hospitalizations have been reported during Week 11 for the Portland Tri-County metropolitan area. 78 influenza-related hospitalizations have been reported so far during the 2011-2012 season.
Outpatient visits for influenza-like illness (ILI) remains below the season threshold.
