Healthier Oregon: More people may be eligible for OHP Plus benefits starting July 1, 2022
Starting July 1, 2022, people who are ages 19-25 or 55 and older may be eligible for full OHP regardless of their immigration status.
As part of this change, approximately 12,000 CWM and CWM Plus members will transition to medical, dental, prescription, vision and behavioral health coverage through the OHP Plus (BMH) benefit plan on July 1.
- This transition will happen automatically, and most members won’t have to do anything to receive coverage.
- Most members will also enroll in a coordinated care organization (CCO) on or around July 11.
- Between July 1 and July 11 they will be on fee-for-service (“open card”) OHP.
Fee-for-service rate increase for newborn bloodspot screening kits used by community birth providers and freestanding birth centers, effective 9/1/2021
OHA has increased the fee-for-service reimbursement rates for the newborn bloodspot screening kit (supply code S3620). For services provided on or after 9/1/2021:
- The rate for the two-part kit is $80.00.
- The rate for a replacement kit containing one part only is $59.00 (add modifier TC to code S3620).
- Community birth providers and freestanding birth centers may bill separately for these kits (outside of the bundled rate for newborn delivery).
The next publication of the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) fee-for-service fee schedule will reflect the increase.
 Updated OHP Pregnancy Notification form
OHA has updated the OHP Pregnancy Notification form (OHP 3360). This form is for providers to report new pregnancies for OHP and CWM patients.
It is important to update pregnancy information for people who have OHP/Medicaid coverage as soon as possible so they can continue to receive the appropriate benefits, such as:
- For OHP members, additional dental and vision benefits during pregnancy and for 12 months after the pregnancy ends.
- For CWM members, OHP Plus benefits during pregnancy and for 60 days after the pregnancy ends.
Supported browsers for the MMIS Provider Web Portal
On June 15, 2022, Microsoft retired the Internet Explorer browser. OHA is now preparing the MMIS Provider Portal at https://www.or-medicaid.gov for use in Microsoft Edge. Until this work is complete, providers using Microsoft Edge can do the following if they encounter any issues using the web portal in Microsoft Edge:
- In Edge, go to Settings and select "Reload in Internet Explorer mode."
- If reloading the web portal page in Internet Explorer mode doesn't help, you can also use Mozilla Firefox (the web portal's other supported browser).
