Subject: Update on Child Welfare leadership transition
As promised, I want to keep you up to date on the Child Welfare Division leadership transition.
I was recently notified that the Senate confirmation hearing for my appointment is scheduled for next Wednesday, Feb. 9. The hearing will be held by the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, chaired by Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon. This is the first of several steps of the process to receiving full Senate confirmation over the coming weeks.
As you know, Deputy Director Aprille Flint-Gerner will become Interim Director upon my departure. Together, we continue to work with the Child Welfare Division executive leadership team, the ODHS Director and partners to ensure her transition into that position is as smooth as possible. Until that time, I am fully focused on our work here in Oregon and putting our shared Vision for Transformation into action.
