Governor’s Leave day – and 2022 state holidays
Governor’s Leave needs to be taken by December 31, 2021
The Governor’s Leave day off for 2021 may be taken through December 31, 2021.
The day is eight hours for a full-time employee and pro-rated for a part-time employee. Employees follow agency leave request and approval procedures to schedule their Day of Leave. This leave-type is generally coded as GL. The Day of Leave must be taken in a block of time, not in hourly increments.
Next year, employees will receive a new floating Governor’s Day on January 1, 2022 to use during the 2022 calendar year. This is a change from previous years’ Governor’s Leave direction.
Governor’s leave is now based on a calendar year, to be taken any day from January 2022 to December 2022.
Listed are the 2022 paid holidays, Juneteenth is now added as a paid holiday on June 20, 2022.
Holidays for 2022 observed:
New Year’s Day
Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day
Presidents’ Day
