The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) has released the policy requiring state employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
We know many of you have questions about the medical and religious exceptions. The information is new for all of us and we appreciate your grace and understanding as the ODHS Human Resources (HR) team responds to the exception requests that employees submit in the Workday system.
What you can do right now
Visit Workday and complete the three tasks sent last night:
- Read and acknowledge the policy
- Submit vaccine information and upload your vaccine card, or
- Submit an exception request
DAS developed resources for all employees, including a Workday job aid for submitting documentation.
As a reminder, all state employees are required to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 18, 2021. Bargaining will not impact the deadline. We know this requirement has made many people feel nervous, upset and even angry. We all must practice compassion and understanding for people of all backgrounds and faiths as we work through this change together.
All three vaccines — Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson — are safe and effective. Employees may get any of these to satisfy the vaccine requirement.
It's natural to have questions about the COVID-19 vaccines. Our partners at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) have posted answers to common questions on their website.
Getting vaccinated is the safest way to stop the spread of COVID-19. To find information about where to get vaccinated, visit Oregon Health Authority's COVID-19 website.
