Thank you for your patience as we adjust our processes to implement Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order 21-29, which among other things mandates vaccines as a condition of employment.
Vaccine verification for new employees
Until we get further instruction from the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), ODHS Human Resources (HR) has established an interim process to certify the vaccine status of new employees.
- Before a new employee begins work, the hiring manager or workforce liaison will email a scanned copy of the person’s vaccine documentation to: ada.dhs@dhsoha.state.or.us
- Use the email naming convention “COVID-19 Vax Cert employee last name_first name” - example “COVID-19 Vax Cert Doe_John”
- HR staff retains information for eventual entry into Workday system
DAS released 11 answers to frequently asked questions about the vaccine mandate which are posted to the Pandemic Guidance OWL page.
Current employees
Please note, current employees do not need to send their vaccine information to HR just yet. The process to verify current employee vaccine status and religious or medical exemptions is in development. We will share that information with you as soon as possible.
Worksite transition timeline paused
On Aug. 13, 2021, the Department of Administrative Services officially announced that the Sept. 1, 2021 reopening of all State of Oregon offices will be paused.
Read the DAS statement in its entirety on the Pandemic Guidance Owl page.
P.S. ODHS employees are within the “executive branch” of Oregon’s state government.
Keep an eye out for emails with the subject line: COVID-19 Update and remember to check the Pandemic Guidance OWL page for the latest information.
