With 2020 behind us, Compass Modernization is continuing into the new year. We have already received a number of very good questions regarding the MOTS replacement. See a few examples below.
What is the timeline for transitioning from MOTS to the new system?
The MOTS Replacement project is in the planning phase. OHA is going to submit a request for proposal for vendors to create the new system. The team is working on it right now. More information about timelines will be shared as they solidify.
What is going to happen to old data when the system changes?
MOTS data will be loaded into the new system. No additional data entry or additional Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files will be required to load historical data.

Right now - the request for proposal (RFP) documents are being reviewed by the Oregon Department of Justice.
The timeline for replacing MOTS has not been set and there is no go live date yet.

Until the new system is in place, we will continue to use the current version of MOTS as the system of record for Oregon behavioral health data.
The data warehouse users will primarily be internal OHA staff. The Office of Information Services (OIS)and the Compass Team presented an Overview of the BHDW Proof of Concept webinar for internal stakeholders on December 19, 2020. The proof of concept was advance work for the data warehouse. It demonstrated the ability to produce several standard reports and generate reports correlating data from multiple data sources.

The Behavioral Health Data Warehouse (BHDW) request for proposal (RFP) has posted.
The RFP Vendor Q & A meeting took place on December 18, 2020. The result of the meeting was a large number of questions that the team answered and sent to the Oregon Department of Justice for review before posting.
The Office of Information Services (OIS) had their first meeting with Microsoft regarding the migrating plans for the Gambling Participant Monitoring System (GPMS) (as well as Compass Systems – Acute Care Reporting) into the Cloud.
A broad overview was provided regarding the applications and database look and feel. Also, a follow-up meeting is scheduled to discuss an in-depth dive for Acute Care Reporting.
Progress is being made with the development of Health Services Division’s (HSD’s) new replacement problem gambling reporting system. In fact, the Office of Information Services (OIS) is working on screens, mockups, and matching requirements.
