January 1, 2021 Prioritized List of Health Services
The interim modifications letter and all files for the pending January 1, 2021 Prioritized List of Health Services are now available on the HERC website.
These changes are technical or reflect new evidence on the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of treatments. The coding changes include:
- Adding new CPT (procedure) codes,
- Adding existing diagnosis and procedure codes omitted from previous Lists,
- Pairing changes for existing diagnosis and treatment codes,
- Removing obsolete codes, and
- Removing codes whose coverage is based on Oregon Administrative Rules (e.g., diagnostic, ancillary, excluded and informational codes).
HERC also made changes to practice guidelines and coding specifications associated with the List.
The list does not include 2021 HCPCS codes. Once the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services releases these codes, OHA will consult with HERC on appropriate placement to ensure timely claim processing.
