Requirements for collecting and reporting REALD data effective October 1, 2020

Sections 40-43 of House Bill 4212 (2020) require the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to adopt rules requiring health care providers to collect Race, Ethnicity, Language, and Disability (REALD) data for all COVID-19 encounters and report this data in accordance with Oregon’s disease reporting rules.

Denture replacement in event of natural disasters

As a result of the current fires burning throughout Oregon, thousands of Oregonians are displaced and many have lost their homes, property, pets and livestock. Thousands more are at risk of loss and displacement. 

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has directed coordinated care organizations (CCOs) and dental care organizations (DCOs) to arrange for replacement of full and/or partial dentures for Oregon Health Plan members when a need is identified, and asks those serving fee-for-service members to do the same.

Free October 21 webinar about the impact of COVID-19 on substance use and pain management

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted delivery of treatment and resources for people with opioid and alcohol use disorders and people on long-term opioid therapy. At this free interactive webinar, the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network and OHA will discuss the impact this disruption may be having on patients and clinics and interventions for primary care facilities moving forward.

• Date and time: Wednesday, October 21, from noon to 1 p.m.
• Audience: The webinar is open to all interested, but the content is most relevant to providers, quality improvement staff, and clinic administrators.

Technical assistance will also be available for interested clinics.
