You may have noticed some changes to our website. Yesterday, OHA has launched a new website for COVID-19 updates. We have moved to a different platform to help prevent website slowness due to high traffic. We are also working to create a page more specifically designed for the information needs of healthcare providers and local public health. Thank you for your patience! We are working hard to make sure you’re getting access to the information you need.
Oregon is taking action to prepare our health systems for the impacts of COVID-19. The Oregon Health Authority, together with the Oregon Military Department, is assembling the Oregon Medical Station (OMS) at the Salem Fairgrounds starting today. The OMS is a temporary mobile facility dedicated for emergency use in situations like COVID-19. It will provide an alternate site to provide care for up to 250 patients. The OMS is one component of Oregon’s larger emergency preparedness plan.
155,000 Oregonians work in restaurants and bars. Thousands of others work in stores and businesses that are temporarily closing. Public structures like SNAP are here for these critical moments. SNAP offers nutrition assistance to eligible individuals and families. You can learn more on the Oregon Department of Human Services website about whether you’re eligible for SNAP and apply online to help keep food on the table.
