Scientist at sea

The latest Ecological Monitoring Report is now available and can be found on the state’s Oregon Marine Reserves website. This scientific report covers ecological monitoring conducted in 2012-2013 by ODFW scientists and our research partners at the Cascade Head, Otter Rock, Cape Perpetua, and Redfish Rocks sites. This is the second monitoring report released since marine reserves monitoring began in 2010.

Marine reserves are a relatively new management tool here in Oregon. Based on what we’re learning, our scientific research is evolving and being adapted over time to produce the best possible data. So, what to do when science and reality clash in marine reserves monitoring? That was the topic of discussion at a recent scientific workshop held by ODFW. Find out more about the workshop on our blog.
