Strengthening Public Safety Cyber Readiness Webinar
Cyber threats targeting 911 systems, law enforcement networks, and emergency communications are growing more sophisticated, putting public safety agencies at heightened risk. To support leaders navigating these nonstop, mission-critical environments, the Center for Internet Security (CIS) is hosting a webinar on Thursday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Strengthening Public Safety Cyber Readiness Through Collective Defense will feature CIS experts discussing today's threat landscape, the importance of collective defense, and how CIS Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and Malicious Domain Blocking and Reporting Plus (MDBR+) deliver continuous, human-validated monitoring and rapid response. The session also highlights the value of the MS-ISAC community in sharing intelligence and real-world lessons.
Read a recent CIS blog, 5 Cyber Questions Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Should Ask which highlights the key questions public safety leaders should ask.

Oregon Updates Rule Numbering for IT Standards
The Department of Administrative Services issued a Permanent Administrative Order renumbering information technology rules to consolidate them under the office of the State Chief Information Officer.
The order renumbers Chapter 125 Division 600 (Identity Authentication/Electronic Signatures) and 800 (State Information Security) to Chapter 128.
The renumbering is purely organizational, no policy, technical, or operational changes were made to the rule content.

Oregon's Spring Framework Forum and Public Sector Data Community Meetup
The Data Governance and Transparency Program held its spring Framework Forum in April, partnering with the Public Sector Data Community to support a larger more diverse audience. Traditionally held twice a year in spring and fall, the Framework Forum focuses on geospatial data governance. By combining efforts with the Public Sector Data Community, the event highlighted the shared challenges and opportunities faced across both spatial and non-spatial data domains.
The joint event recognized that regardless of roles or disciplines, data custodians experience similar questions about how to achieve and maintain high-quality, authoritative data. The need for clear governance, effective stewardship, and consistent practices is universal across the data landscape.
The event included presentations on topics such as documentation, data governance, Framework Program updates and agency-specific projects and examples illustrating how sustained focus can improve data quality and accessibility.
Recordings of Framework Forums are available online. For more information or to get involved with Oregon’s Framework Program, please email melissa.foltz@das.oregon.gov.
