Privacy Guidance Draft Out for Comment
Draft Agency Privacy Guidance for the handling and protection of personal information is out for comment until March 10, 2026. This is the first enterprise guidance on privacy and includes the following:

State of Oregon Enterprise Privacy Principles, anchored in Fair Information Practice Principles (FIPPs) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Privacy Framework while maintaining Oregon’s Information Asset Classification Policy as the foundation for defining and applying privacy controls.

A list of recommendations for agencies on when to use and how to apply the principles, including a Privacy Review Checklist.
- A detailed Appendix with application examples for each privacy principle and a Privacy Controls matrix aligned to NIST.

Oregon's BEAD Final Proposal Approved
Oregon's Final Proposal for the federal Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program has been approved, unlocking $689 million, the largest broadband investment in state history.
This funding will deliver affordable, high-speed internet to 104,654 unserved and underserved households, businesses, and healthcare facilities, with a strong focus on rural communities and Tribal lands.
The initiative includes 313 projects across 36 counties and 7 Tribal nations, aiming to close the digital divide and boost education, telehealth, emergency services, and economic growth.

Cybersecurity Tabletop
Enterprise Information Services Cyber Security Services (EIS CSS) and LBL Cybersecurity, are hosting the Spring Cybersecurity Summit and Tabletop Exercise in Corvallis, Oregon.
New this year will be an Interactive Cybersecurity Tabletop, an immersive, collaborative experience designed to help teams practice decision-making and improve organizational readiness.

The Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (OCCoE) is offering a semi-monthly virtual Research Seminar Series showcasing innovative cybersecurity research taking place at each of their partnering institutions.
